Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills

Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills

ILM Level 2 - Leadership skills

This programme is for Team Leaders wanting to gain a formal business qualification and the foundations of how to manage their team.
We cover a number of key management modules to better equip you in managing, inspiring, challenging and engaging your team. This is ideally suited for those in their first management role or where the business wishes to equip individuals with the necessary management skills prior to being promoted into their first management role..

Why Come on the Course?

4 in 5 Managers have no formal management training, running the risk of “accidental managers” who learn from mistakes rather than having a clear structure and skills to rely on when managing their teams. Many first time managers are promoted because of skills in their role rather than ability to manage and engage their team. This programme is completely bespoke and will be designed around modules and subjects that are relevant to your business – essentially what you want your Team Leaders to be doing day in and day out.

What is it?

A highly interactive, educational, lively and fun programme delivered by experienced trainers (who have been managers) and utilising our ted Learning actors on many of the courses to enable the chance to practice skills.

This course is offered at Award and Certificate Level. It is designed for aspiring and existing team leaders and covers topics including: –

  • What is the role of a team leader and what are the skills required to fulfil this role
  • How to engage staff
  • Delegating workload
  • Giving Feedback
  • Performance Management
  • How to deliver team briefings

The Award takes approximately 6 months to complete with the Certificate taking between 12-18 months. We are also able to offer each of the modules individually as standalone courses.

Your Takeaways

Your takeaways will be:

  • Clear understanding of the skills required to be an effective Team Leader
  • Understanding of the impact your behaviour can have on those working for you
  • Clarity around how to get the best out of the people working for you.
  • Having a real sense of pride in being a manager and that you are qualified to do the role.

What we will explore?

Each module will be completely bespoke and relevant to your business and role as a team leader.

Having been appointed to your first management role, this programme is ideal for you. Rather than learning how to be a good manager ‘on the job’ and through error, this programme gives you the essential skills to manage and inspire your team in a focused and structured way.

Delivered in a fun and engaging way, giving you the chance to practice your new skills to see how it works and the impact your behaviour can have on others.

ILM Level 2 | Sustained Learning

Ted Learning delivers fun, engaging, memorable and impactful learning. We do this by using expert trainers and professional actors to create either observational or participative theatre, which fully complements and supports the theory. However the challenge is not just creating a fun and positive training day, its about really sustaining the learning and ensuring behaviours change for the long-term when back in the workplace.

ILM Level 2 | Continued Support

All our delegates have full access to our ted learning HUB – a web-based platform that enables all learners to continue the engagement with the trainer and actors, see latest case-studies and blogs from the ted learning team and engage with other learners, discussing their own challenges and successes.

WHY ted Learning?

Our training is observational and participative, using teams of actors to bring it to life. We recognise that taking part in role-play is not for everyone, so we offer observational training – this is where two of our acting team demonstrate scenes related to the course and delegates observe and comment on the behaviors. Where a business is more confident working with actors, we take this to the next level with participative training so delegates get to practice their newly learnt skills.
