Alliance Healthcare's origins are deeply rooted in community healthcare: the company was founded under the UniChem brand over 70 years ago by a group of London pharmacists, to serve independent pharmacy. Today Alliance Healthcare continue to maintain this strong service-based culture and we are dedicated to working in partnership with pharmacists and manufacturers to improve healthcare in our communities.

Working with partners, Alliance Healthcare provide an innovative range of wholesale distribution and related services for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. ted Learning is delighted to be working with Alliance Healthcare, part of the Global Walgreens Boots Alliance Group, to deliver Presentation Skills and Project Management training.

The Brief

ted Learning was approached by Alliance Healthcare (part of the global Walgreens Boots Alliance group) as a possible supplier for presentation skills and project management. The brief was to deliver these courses across of range of roles in the business in an engaging and impactful way.

L&D Consultant Will Newbigging wanted to understand the ted Learning approach and commissioned us to deliver one pilot of each course with feedback from delegates shaping the course prior to rollout.

We delivered presentation skills under our ted Learning banner, using an actor to demonstrate (in a fun, engaging and humorous way) some of the most common mistakes made when delivering a presentation. Delegates could then feel for themselves what it was like to be on the receiving end of these mistakes.

Project Management was delivered under our 73:75 brand and focused on specific outcomes including a real focus on Gantt charts.

The final product is tailored to the needs of the business. With presentation skills spending more time on confidence building and managing nerves and how to structure the presentation.

Project Management has evolved aswell with the key focus on Gantt and producing the project plan and conducting a SWOT.

ted Learning & 73:75 are delighted to have been commissioned to deliver these courses on an ongoing basis in the business and has supported the L&D team with the use of our online booking system so staff members can take personal responsibility for booking themselves onto the courses.

WHY ted Learning?

Our training is observational and participative, using teams of actors to bring it to life. We recognise that taking part in role-play is not for everyone, so we offer observational training – this is where two of our acting team demonstrate scenes related to the course and delegates observe and comment on the behaviors. Where a business is more confident working with actors, we take this to the next level with participative training so delegates get to practice their newly learnt skills.
