First established in 1902 and now based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, Triumph Motorcycles is the largest British-owned automotive manufacturer, producing around 55,000 bikes per year. Triumph currently employs over 2000 personnel worldwide and has offices in the UK, the USA, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Japan, Benelux, India, Brazil and soon in Indonesia.

The Brief

Our relationship with Triumph commenced in 2012 delivering conflict management training to managers and employees and a few skills support courses.

We have now developed this relationship to be a key partner in the Triumph Academy. This offers an opportunity for all employees to further their L&D by attending a number of skills support courses. ted Learning and 73:75 run courses including Presentation Skills, Time Management (branded Getting Stuff Done!), Being Effective At Work, Conflict Management, Appraisals, How to Conduct Interviews, Recruitment Planning, Managing Performance & Having Effective Conversations throughout the training year.

We have also worked closely with the HR team and developed a programme called First Gear into Management to support newly appointed managers who have a set of core skills that the business identified as essential.

We have really embedded ourselves into the business having a detailed understanding of all aspects of the business operation, products, language & processes. This gives us credibility in the organisation, as we understand the roles undertaken by those attending our courses.Additionally, we provide a full L&D service to Triumph, managing all course bookings for all courses part of the Triumph Academy and providing monthly reports and summaries on courses run.

WHY ted Learning?

Our training is observational and participative, using teams of actors to bring it to life. We recognise that taking part in role-play is not for everyone, so we offer observational training – this is where two of our acting team demonstrate scenes related to the course and delegates observe and comment on the behaviors. Where a business is more confident working with actors, we take this to the next level with participative training so delegates get to practice their newly learnt skills.
