Advanced Presentation Skills helps organisations develop people who can communicate ideas clearly, credibly and with greater impact. Presentations can lose their audience when nerves affect delivery, verbal and non-verbal messages do not match, or questions pull the speaker off course. This practical course gives experienced presenters structured opportunities to understand and address those challenges.
Learners explore presentation as a communication process, identify the ‘noise’ that can prevent a message landing as intended, and apply strategies to manage nerves, strengthen congruence and respond to difficult questions. They also examine how their Presenting Brand is perceived and receive focused feedback on how authentically and credibly they come across. By building greater self-awareness and control, the course supports clearer communication with colleagues, clients and stakeholders. For the business, that means presenters who are better equipped to hold attention, communicate important messages and represent their expertise professionally.
Advanced Presentation Skills is designed for people who already have some presenting experience and want to take their skills to the next level. Knowing the basics is not always enough when a presentation must be delivered at short notice, nerves become visible, an audience is resistant or an unexpected question changes the dynamic. The course goes beyond content and structure to examine how communication is encoded, delivered, interpreted and affected by ‘noise’. Learners look closely at the relationship between words, tone, pace, body language and facial expression, and how a lack of congruence can reduce trust and credibility.
They practise practical ways to manage nerves and maintain professionalism, then apply their learning in a presentation with structured feedback from the trainer, actor and other learners. This combination of insight, observation, rehearsal and reflection makes the course a worthwhile investment for organisations that rely on people to communicate ideas with confidence and impact.
Advanced Presentation Skills begins with a focused recap of presentation content and structure, body language and verbal delivery. Learners then explore communication as a process, considering the sender, message, channel, receiver, decoding, feedback and the ‘noise’ that can prevent an audience receiving the intended message.
The course focuses on four areas that influence presentation impact, and handling questions while managing the audience effectively. Learners examine practical breathing, relaxation and voice techniques and identify what makes delivery believable and engaging. Each learner delivers a presentation, taking questions and receiving structured feedback from our delivery team and their peers. Learners finish by reflecting on strengths, development areas and practical next steps.
In Advanced Presentation Skills, an expert trainer and professional actor combine explanation, observation, discussion and practice to turn presentation theory into usable techniques. Short exercises, workbook activities and facilitated discussion help them understand communication ‘noise’, nerves, congruence and audience management. We explore how voice, body language, facial expression, tone and pace affect credibility.
Each learner delivers a presentation and reflects on the feedback they receive and how this relates to how they wanted to come across, providing specific areas for further development. Available face to face or virtually, the course keeps learning interactive and grounded in realistic presentation challenges, with time for reflection and clear personal next steps.
Advanced Presentation Skills supports experienced presenters to communicate with greater confidence, credibility and control.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to ….
Presentations are often the point at which important ideas need to become clear, credible and persuasive. Even experienced presenters can find that nerves, inconsistent verbal and non-verbal communication, or a challenging question weakens the message they intended to deliver. Advanced Presentation Skills gives learners the space to see these dynamics in action, practise practical responses and understand how others experience their presenting style.
That matters because credibility is shaped not only by what someone says, but by whether their delivery feels authentic, congruent and professional. By investing in these skills, organisations support employees to communicate expertise more effectively, handle audience interaction with greater control and identify clear areas for continued development.
