In many organisations, people are polite, professional, and clear in their day-to-day interactions. Customers are satisfied. Teams get along. But there’s something missing.
You’ve probably noticed that individuals sometimes miss key opportunities—whether it’s making their ideas land in meetings, encouraging a client to consider a premium offer, or standing out more effectively in team collaborations. It’s not a confidence issue. It’s a technique issue. People aren’t underperforming—they’re just not influencing.
Our Course helps learners build persuasive communication skills that make a difference. From shaping compelling arguments and building trust to reading the room and adapting their style, participants learn how to get better outcomes without being pushy or inauthentic. They gain the tools to connect, persuade, and motivate others with clarity and confidence.
Ideal for professionals at all levels, this course enables your people to maximise their impact and make the most of every interaction. Because when influencing improves, so does performance—and the business starts seeing results that go beyond just “getting along.”
How to Influence is a practical, interactive course designed to help individuals at all levels enhance their ability to influence others with confidence, clarity, and purpose. Whether it’s persuading stakeholders, navigating difficult conversations, or encouraging collaboration across teams, this course supports learners in developing communication strategies that deliver results.
The course explores the core theory behind influencing—particularly the use of Push and Pull techniques—and helps participants identify which approach works best in different workplace scenarios. Through a combination of verbal and non-verbal communication tools, learners will develop the flexibility to influence effectively while remaining authentic.
Participants will gain insight into their own influencing style, learn to recognise the preferences of others, and practise adapting their approach to build stronger relationships, overcome resistance, and drive better outcomes. This improved awareness leads to more productive conversations, better collaboration, and increased professional impact.
Using ted Learning’s signature drama-based learning techniques, the course features live forum theatre and one-to-one rehearsals with professional actors. Learners direct, observe, and take part in realistic workplace scenarios—receiving supportive, tailored feedback to refine and strengthen their influencing skills in a safe and engaging environment.
Through hands-on practice, expert facilitation, and structured reflection, How to Influence empowers your people to make smarter choices in communication, handle objections more confidently, and turn everyday interactions into opportunities for influence and success.
Having in person actors was really useful and better than videos, a lot of good feedback

In the How to Influence course, we use two powerful drama-based learning techniques to bring influencing skills to life: forum theatre and 1-to-1 actor practice.
In the How to Influence course, we use two powerful drama-based learning techniques to bring influencing skills to life: forum theatre and 1-to-1 actor practice.
Forum theatre involves professional actors performing a realistic workplace scenario while learners observe and ‘direct’ the action. Participants can pause, rewind, and suggest changes to the characters’ behaviours and responses—allowing them to see in real time what works, what doesn’t, and why. It’s an interactive way to explore communication dynamics without pressure.
1-to-1 actor practice is not role-play. Learners don’t have to act or perform. Instead, they interact as themselves, while our actor takes on the role of the person being influenced. This creates a safe, supportive space to practise influencing techniques and receive tailored feedback that builds confidence and real-world readiness.
Both techniques are core to the How to Influence course and help embed learning in a way that’s practical, engaging, and memorable.
We have been delivering highly impactful drama-based learning for over 13 years.
