Why this course?

When people lack understanding & awareness, differences in communication, behaviour and ways of working can easily be misunderstood, creating barriers for individuals, teams and customers, and sometimes leading to frustration or disengagement.

In this course, learners will explore what neurodiversity is, building their awareness and helping them recognise how to create a more inclusive environment that enables colleagues to perform at their best and peers and customers to feel understood and supported.

Our Neurodiversity Awareness course is highly practical and interactive. Using discussion, reflection and realistic drama-based workplace scenarios, learners develop their understanding, share best practice and take away key tools that they can apply immediately in their day-to-day roles.

What does it cover?

Our Neurodiversity Awareness course explains different terminology, types of neurodivergence and also explores some common myths about neurodiversity.

We use our unique drama scenes to explore common workplace and service barriers, and the impact these can have – this section can be tailored to your organisation and specific ways of working, services, customers etc and can be internal or external scenarios. We’ll work through suggested approaches and practical strategies to minimise these barriers, with a focus on changes that ensure everyone is catered for, work with our actors to see how these can work in practice, and commit to next steps and actions to move forwards.

How do we do it?

In our Neurodiversity Awareness course, our expert trainers share their own knowledge and life experiences, facilitating discussions that encourage learners to ask questions and improve their understanding. We encourage a mindset of curiosity, rather than judgement, encouraging learners to avoid making assumptions, and to think about behaviours and barriers rather than individuals.

We use drama-based learning to simulate real world scenarios which can create challenges and barriers for Neurodivergent people.  Our professional actors bring these moments to life, allowing learners to reflect and seek understanding in a safe, supportive environment.
