Sexual Harassment Awareness....

How does this course help your business?

This engaging and interactive Sexual Harassment Awareness training helps your business to take the ‘all reasonable steps’ it’s legally required to in order to prevent sexual harassment of employees in the workplace.

Aimed at all employees, this drama-based learning course raises understanding and awareness of what constitutes sexual harassment, and ensures your people recognise the negative impact of unacceptable behaviour. Using our unique drama-based scenes, which can be tailored to your business, we explore different examples of sexual harassment from internal colleagues and also third parties, and clarify individual employee responsibilities to create a safe, harassment-free working environment.

Why this course?

Since the Worker Protection Amendment to the Equality Act 2010 in 2024, all employers have a legal duty to prevent sexual harassment of their employees in the workplace. Further legislation under the Employment Rights Act 2025 requires organisations to take ‘all reasonable steps’ – this is an ongoing duty, and one that is deemed ‘anticipatory’ – meaning employers need to take action before sexual harassment happens.

Training all employees to recognise what sexual harassment is, and why it’s unacceptable, is key to this duty, as it provides a foundation of understanding for all staff, ensuring that your workplace is a safe, harassment free environment.

We also offer a follow-on course, specifically for Managers & Leaders, which explores how to navigate conversations about sexual harassment, and focuses on leadership responsibilities to ensure a zero-tolerance culture, supporting the requirement to take ‘all reasonable steps’

What does it cover?

Create a Safer Workplace: Prevent Sexual Harassment & Foster Respect

The Sexual Harassment Awareness course is designed to equip all employees—regardless of role or seniority—with the knowledge, awareness, and confidence to recognise and respond to inappropriate behaviour in the workplace. Delivered through interactive sessions, real-life case studies, and our signature drama-based learning, this course helps learner  explore what sexual harassment looks like, how it impacts individuals and teams, and what to do when they witness or experience it.

This training goes beyond basic compliance. It plays a critical role in building a culture of safety, inclusivity, and mutual respect. Learners gain a deeper appreciation of how even seemingly minor or joking behaviour can cause serious harm—and why the ‘banter’ excuse no longer holds. By surfacing these dynamics in a safe and engaging learning environment, the Sexual Harassment  Awareness course opens up essential conversations and fosters long-term behavioural change.

In line with the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, and the subsequent additional requirements under the Employment Rights Act 2025, this course helps organisations demonstrate they are taking the ‘all reasonable steps’ now required by law to prevent sexual harassment at work. We strongly recommend this training is made available to all staff as a proactive and preventative measure, supporting both legal compliance and cultural integrity.

How do we do it?

In our Sexual Harassment Awareness course, we use drama based learning to explore what sexual harassment is, and understand the negative impact it can have on individuals, teams and organisations. Our professional actors bring scenarios to life, helping learners understand the reality of unacceptable behaviour.

We also focus on individual responsibilities, and how to report incidents of sexual harassment – using your specific policies and reporting procedures to ensure the learning is contextualised and relevant to your organisation.

Learning Outcomes.

why is it important?

Why is this course important?

All employers have a legal duty to prevent sexual harassment of their employees in the workplace, from both other employees and also from third parties. The law requires organisations to take a pro-active approach, taking all reasonable steps to the prevention of sexual harassment. Training, of all employees, is essential as one of these steps. Organisations facing claims of sexual harassment face a 25% uplift on compensation claims in tribunals if they are deemed to have not taken all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment from occurring.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ABOUT Sexual Harassment Awareness

The Sexual Harassment Awareness course is a vital component in demonstrating that your organisation is taking proactive and meaningful action to prevent workplace harassment. However, the legal definition of ‘all reasonable steps’ under the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 is not fixed—it will depend on your organisation’s size, structure, and specific risk profile.

As a minimum, we recommend that all staff—including employees, contractors, and freelance workers—complete sexual harassment awareness  training. This should be supported by a clear and accessible policy outlining what constitutes sexual harassment and how to report it. It’s also important that reporting mechanisms are safe, confidential, and trusted by your workforce.

While this course forms a strong foundation, it should be part of a wider strategy that includes policy review, leadership accountability, reporting processes, and a commitment to an inclusive workplace culture.

Sexual Harassment Awareness training is a crucial step in creating a workplace culture that values safety, respect, and inclusion. It ensures that every employee—regardless of level—understands what constitutes sexual harassment, why it is unacceptable, and how to respond appropriately if they witness or experience it.

By offering this training, your organisation not only raises awareness but also empowers individuals to recognise problematic behaviour and take action. This helps prevent minor issues from escalating into more serious misconduct, supports early intervention, and fosters a workplace where inappropriate comments or behaviours are consistently challenged.

Importantly, this training also supports legal compliance with the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, which places a duty on employers to take ‘all reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment. Investing in this course demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to protecting employees, reducing risk, and maintaining a professional and inclusive working environment.

Attending the Sexual Harassment Awareness course equips learners with a clear understanding of what constitutes sexual harassment, how it manifests in the workplace, and the significant impact it can have on individuals, teams, and organisational culture.

Learners will gain the tools and confidence to recognise inappropriate behaviour, challenge it respectfully, and take appropriate action—whether that’s offering support, speaking up, or following correct reporting procedures. This shared understanding promotes a workplace culture built on awareness, accountability, and mutual respect.

For organisations, the benefits are far-reaching. The course helps reduce the risk of incidents, improves legal compliance under the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, and strengthens trust between employees and leadership. It also enhances morale, supports a psychologically safe environment, and reinforces your reputation as an employer that prioritises dignity, inclusion, and employee wellbeing.

This Sexual Harassment Awareness Training course helps organisations meet their legal duties under the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, which requires employers to take ‘all reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.

By educating employees and managers on what constitutes sexual harassment, the harm it causes, and how to challenge and report it, the course ensures your workforce is informed, empowered, and aligned with your organisational values. It also makes clear the individual responsibilities all staff members carry to contribute to a respectful and safe workplace culture.

Offering this course is a clear demonstration of your organisation’s commitment to legal compliance, proactive risk reduction, and the creation of an inclusive working environment free from harassment and discrimination.

No, not at all. While the Sexual Harassment Awareness course does cover key legal requirements—such as those outlined in the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023—the training is far from a legal lecture.

The focus is on practical, real-world understanding. Through immersive drama-based learning, interactive discussions, and relatable scenarios, learners explore how sexual harassment shows up in the workplace and what they can do to prevent and address it. The legal content is woven in where necessary to ensure everyone understands their rights and responsibilities, but the emphasis is on relevance, clarity, and real-life application.

This course is for everyone – all employees at all levels, and we recommend that all managers & leaders complete it first before them moving onto our Sexual Harassment Prevention and Your Role as a Leader’ course.
