LET'S TALK ABOUT CRACKING COACHING SKILLS.
This full day, interactive workshop is designed to support managers and team leaders to develop their practical coaching skills and techniques, helping them to get the best out of their people. We use our actors to enable observation of how using a "tell" approach impacts our colleagues and have time to practice the art of coaching.
why come on the course?
Do you require a better understanding of how to coach?
Have you kept telling your team to do something and it just doesn’t get done?
Do you often feel like some of your team aren’t listening to you and you don’t know why?
Is it frustrating for you when things you have specifically asked for do not get completed to your standard?
If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, then this course is definitely for you.
What is it?
A highly interactive session that uses recognised coaching models and a live professional actor.
Using your own real life situations, you will build your knowledge, self-awareness and skills, eventually having the opportunity to practice your own coaching session with the actor playing your team member.
What will I do on the day?
Through lots of practical activities and discussion, our trainer will explore some theories and techniques of Coaching, supporting you to apply these to your own situations and teams.
You’ll learn how to listen actively, ask the right questions, structure a coaching conversation appropriately and work with your team to set goals that help them fulfil their potential.
embedding the learning.
We really embed the learning in our coaching course by giving learners the opportunity to observe how tell is ineffective and how coaching works, and by giving an opportunity to practice this skill.
Our actors add a different dimension to this course by giving a chance to practice, get it wrong and understand why and the impact we have on others.
We also provide post-course coaching help for new coaches to continue the learning and provide a sounding board and support.
learning outcomes.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain how individuals learn and develop, and the influence this has on coaching conversations
- Compare different styles of coaching and how these can be used to get the best out of their people
- Deliver feedback in a way that supports individuals to develop and improve
- Lead an effective coaching conversation using a recognised technique
