In this full-day course, we focus on how emotion affects work performance and our working relationships and explore how to tune into our emotional intelligence to work and interact more effectively.

What is it?

In this workshop, our expert trainer will guide you through emotional intelligence theory, supporting you to identify how your emotions impact on your working life, and how to better understand the impact of emotions on those around you.

You’ll develop an understanding of why you react and respond in the way you do, especially when faced with challenging situations, and how you may come across to others as a result.

Through practical activities and discussion, you’ll explore different techniques which will help you to make good use of your own emotional intelligence and have a better understanding of others’ behaviours.

This course is delivered using our expert trainer who has extensive experience and knowledge in human behaviour, emotional intelligence and unconscious bias.

The course can be delivered with or without our actors who can perform scenarios around human interaction to demonstrate what can trigger responses with our expert trainer then facilitating discussions around how to approach these scenarios differently in the future.

We embed the learning by using practical tools that can be taken away on the day and utilised immediately back in the workplace.

0.1 What is Theatre based learning?
Theatre Based Learning is the technique we use to bring learning to life by using our actors to perform scenarios, based on real case studies. Theatre Based Learning can be either observational (where learners watch scenes and discuss) OR participative (where we use techniques like real-play and practice, forum where learners interact with the actors and direct them or hot-seating where learners give feedback to individual characters and make suggestions).
0.2What are the benefits of Emotional Intelligence training?
The benefits of having a better understanding of why and how people behave the way they do is that we can change our own behaviour or responses. This will help us get the best out of our team or colleagues. Often we keep taking the same approach and wondering why we get the same result. We might also just not understand why certain individuals respond in the way they do. This course will help you have a deeper understanding of human behaviour.

    Our training is observational and participative, using teams of actors to bring it to life. We recognise that taking part in role-play is not for everyone, so we offer observational training – this is where two of our acting team demonstrate scenes related to the course and delegates observe and comment on the behaviors. Where a business is more confident working with actors, we take this to the next level with participative training so delegates get to practice their newly learnt skills.
