Brave Conversations

Why this course?

Brave conversations are part of working life. They might involve giving feedback, handling conflict, addressing behaviour, managing expectations, or speaking up when something doesn’t feel right. Whatever form they take, these conversations can quickly become difficult when emotions rise, confidence drops, or we avoid saying what really needs to be said.

This live virtual open course gives learners the chance to build confidence in handling challenging conversations with clarity, empathy and control. Delivered via Zoom, the session is practical, interactive and designed to help delegates take away tools they can use straight away in real workplace situations.

Using ted Learning’s drama-based approach, our actors bring brave conversations to life in a safe and supportive online environment. Learners will explore what happens when conversations go off track, practise techniques for staying calm under pressure, and develop strategies for communicating more effectively with customers, colleagues, managers or team members.

Because this is an open course, delegates can join individually or in small groups from different organisations, bringing a rich mix of perspectives and experiences to the session. The result is a practical, engaging and memorable learning experience that helps people approach difficult conversations with greater confidence, awareness and skill.

Brave Conversations

What does it cover?

Brave Conversations: practical communication skills for difficult moments at work

Delivered live on Zoom, our Brave Conversations open course helps learners understand what happens when emotions take over during challenging conversations, and how to respond with more confidence, clarity and control.

Using professional actors, realistic workplace scenarios and guided discussion, we explore why conversations can escalate, how different behaviours affect the outcome, and what learners can do differently in the moment.

The course introduces practical communication models that give structure to difficult conversations, helping learners manage their own emotional responses, respond to others with empathy, listen more effectively, give feedback constructively and stay present when the pressure rises.

Throughout the session, learners will have the opportunity to reflect, discuss and practise in a safe virtual environment, using Zoom breakout rooms and live actor-led scenarios to bring the learning to life.

These skills support better working relationships, greater psychological safety and more open, constructive conversations across teams.
