First Bus were looking to formalise their employee induction for all new starters with something that was consistently delivered, regardless of location and who delivered it. They wanted interactive elements to it so that new starters participated in the day, and that customer feedback was brought to life. They had concerns that some new starters had very different experiences. The project would also entail training their training team on the new content.
After being appointed by First Bus, ted Learning conducted an in-depth review of their existing induction content, collaborating with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement. By engaging with employees across the business, we shaped an immersive, employee-focused induction experience that truly reflected First Bus’s values and culture.
Working closely with the L&D team, we redesigned the induction session plan, incorporating interactive learning, video content, and drama-based customer service scenarios. Our team filmed on-site at garages and locations across the UK, capturing real employee insights and bringing customer feedback to life through engaging, scenario-based storytelling.
We built the entire induction programme using cutting-edge digital learning software and trained the First Bus training team over several months to ensure seamless delivery. Following this success, we have also designed and developed a digital induction for their Manager’s Toolkit and delivered storytelling training to employees across the UK, further embedding First Bus’s values through powerful, real-world learning experiences.
