Lived Experiences – Neurodiversity

In this video Chris Bonello explores Neurodiversity. We challenge common assumptions and judgements about autistic and other neurodivergent people, showing how these shape experiences in work and education. Chris also sets out practical ways to be more understanding, accommodating and compassionate, noting the positive steps often seen in education and why similar progress is not always mirrored in the workplace.

Let’s talk neurodivergence. It simply means brains work in different ways, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. In this short, Chris Bonello tackles the real issue: assumptions and barriers, not the people themselves. He explains masking, sensory load and executive-function challenges, then shows how small, practical changes can help: clearer instructions, quiet spaces, flexible formats, consent-based socialising and fair assessment. Watch to learn how inclusion can move from policy to everyday practice.
