Building Confidence Through Menopause Awareness for Leaders

Menopause Awareness for Leaders...

Why this course?

Menopause Awareness for Leaders is a critical next step for organisations committed to building inclusive, supportive, and high-performing workplace cultures. As public awareness of the menopause transition and its impact continues to grow, many organisations have already delivered awareness training for employees—opening up conversations and reducing stigma around a topic that was once considered taboo.

This investment has helped foster greater empathy and understanding. Many staff now recognise how the physical, emotional and cognitive symptoms of menopause can affect performance, wellbeing and confidence in the workplace. However, as awareness has increased, so too has the recognition that more is needed—particularly from those in leadership roles.

Despite good intentions, many managers and team leaders still feel uncertain about how to provide effective support. They understand the topic in principle but often lack the practical tools, language and confidence to have meaningful conversations with team members. This can lead to avoidance, inconsistency, and missed opportunities to retain valuable talent.

The challenge lies not just in knowledge, but in skills, strategy and everyday application. Managers need to know how to create safe spaces for dialogue, how to respond sensitively when someone discloses symptoms, and how to ensure team dynamics and performance expectations are managed fairly and supportively. They also need to understand how menopause support fits into broader workplace inclusion and wellbeing initiatives.

Menopause Awareness for Leaders addresses these gaps directly. Through practical, skills-based learning, this course empowers managers to lead with empathy, respond with confidence, and take proactive steps to support colleagues experiencing the menopause. It also encourages a more strategic perspective—helping leaders identify organisational improvements that promote psychological safety, strengthen retention, and ensure the workplace works for everyone.

Investing in Menopause Awareness for Leaders ensures your organisation doesn’t just raise awareness—it leads the way in fostering a genuinely inclusive, forward-thinking culture where all employees can thrive at every stage of life.

No — the Menopause Awareness for Leaders course is not just for women. In fact, it’s essential that all managers, regardless of gender, feel confident in understanding the menopause transition and how it can affect individuals in the workplace. If you manage or work with women, this course is highly relevant to you.

Menopause affects not only those experiencing it directly, but also colleagues, teams and workplace culture as a whole. By attending Menopause Awareness for Leaders, participants gain the knowledge and skills to foster open, respectful conversations, break down stigma, and offer meaningful support—regardless of their own gender or experience.

Creating an inclusive and empathetic workplace means ensuring everyone is equipped to understand and respond to the challenges their team members may face. This course plays a key role in promoting shared responsibility for wellbeing and inclusion at every level of the organisation.

In the Menopause Awareness for Leaders course, we use powerful drama-based techniques to bring real workplace situations to life—and two of the most impactful methods we use are forum theatre and hotseating.

Forum theatre involves our professional actors performing a realistic scene that reflects a common workplace challenge. Learners observe the scene and then take on the role of ‘director’—pausing, rewinding or adjusting the interaction to explore different approaches and outcomes. This interactive format allows participants to test communication strategies, build empathy, and see how subtle changes in behaviour can influence a conversation.

Hotseating is another immersive technique where learners ask direct questions to the characters in the scene—while the actors remain fully in role. This gives participants a deeper insight into the character’s perspective, emotions and reasoning, helping to develop emotional intelligence and a better understanding of how people might experience the menopause transition at work.

Both techniques are designed to make the learning memorable, personal and practical—core goals of the Menopause Awareness for Leaders course.

Menopause Awareness for Leaders plays a vital role in helping organisations create truly inclusive, equitable and psychologically safe workplaces. As more employees openly discuss menopause and peri-menopause, it’s essential that those in leadership positions are equipped to respond with empathy, understanding and confidence.

Supporting team members through the menopause transition isn’t just a wellbeing initiative—it’s a strategic business priority. Without proper awareness and support, talented individuals may feel isolated, misunderstood, or forced to reduce hours or leave roles entirely. This can lead to increased absence, lower morale and the unnecessary loss of experienced staff.

By investing in Menopause Awareness for Leaders, organisations can:

  • Improve employee wellbeing and psychological safety
  • Foster an open and inclusive culture where difficult topics are discussed with confidence
  • Enhance leadership capability through better communication, empathy and active listening
  • Strengthen retention of skilled talent at all levels
  • Embed menopause support into wider diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategies

When leaders understand menopause, they don’t just offer better support—they shape a workplace culture where everyone can thrive. Menopause Awareness for Leaders ensures that inclusion is not just a value, but an everyday leadership practice.
